I almost committed suicide for Nando - Selly Galley

Newly wed, Selly Galley has revealed  she considered committing suicide after her fellow Big Brother Africa housemate, Nando accused her of giving him Sexually Transmitted Disease(STD).
In an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay Show, Selly said she had no opportunity to defend herself and the backlash from her own country, Ghana was too much was her bear.

Even the people she trusted in the BBA house did not disclosed the information to her.
Selly denied sleeping with the Tanzanian representative, Nando saying, “I did not sleep with Nando, all that we did was to kiss and cuddle, she said on the Delay television Show".

When she came back home following her eviction from the Big Brother House Selly vowed to take legal action against Tanzanian housemate, Nando, for spreading falsehood about her.

Commenting on how her husband, Big Cartel J felt after she kissed Nando in the house, Selly revealed “ obviously, his ego was bruised but I got so much support that he did not have to worry about anything. “Again, he spoke to the producers of the show and they told him a lot of things, things that I think he was okay with.”

I don’t regret cleaning Bola Ray’s shoes says ex-BBA star - DKB

Reigning Ghanaian comedian Derick Kobina Boney aka DKB is surprised some people are criticizing him for cleaning Bola Ray’s shoes on stage during the just ended Radio and TV Personality (RTP) Awards.

DKB who was the host of the awards night was seen bowing down to clean popular Broadcaster Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi aka Bolaray’s shoes when he mounted the stage to accept an award and this DKB said he never regrets doing adding that he would do it for the rest of his life if need be because Bolaray means a lot to him and his career.

DKB in an interview with Nkonkonsa.com said people should “shut up” because what Bola Ray has done for him none of them would do that especially when he really needed that push. Bola Ray was there for him and gave him all the opportunities for him to be where he is now.

"I don’t regret cleaning Bolaray’s shoes on the RTP stage because he deserves my honour. First of all Bola Ray was a very big influence to my career. As I speak now I am the best event host and the king of comedy in Ghana and in these two areas he contributed greatly”.

Revealing some of the great things Bola Ray did for him at the beginning of his career, DKB said;

“My first ever performance on TV on ‘Music Music’, it was Bola Ray who helped me. In fact he spoke to them on my behalf and the audition was very flexible and truly I came out pretty good, and then I was given a chance to perform on ‘Music Music’ that was way back in 2006 and as at that time he could tell that I can be comedian and he gave me the chance.

To talk about being an MC, I was a young MC on campus and Bolaray who runs Empire Entertainment puts up a huge stage fully sponsored by big cooperate companies to do artistes night I approached him and the next thing I knew Bolaray brought me on stage to host the show together with him and then he got to know I was a good MC.

So for rest of my years on Legon campus from level 300 to 400, it has just been me hosting all his events on campus and that made me very popular and people got to know of my talent.

In fact it was through that I got my first job in life and also looking at him as a personality, he inspired me to believe that you can make it without being an employee”, DKB recounted adding that he never got the kind of inspiration from family and friends, but Bola Ray gave him that strong inspiration he needed at the time.

The former Big Brother Africa housemate still justified his shoe cleaning gesture.

“At the RTP he was the man of the night so why shouldn’t I do this man the little honour of cleaning his shoes? So people should just allow me.

In fact I am even ready to watch his singlet and iron his socks. Yes! I am ready to do all that just so people would know that I value him that much and I am that humble to do all that for somebody who has been able to influence my career to this point. So anybody saying anything should just shut up.

If they don’t know how to appreciate they should allow those of us who appreciate people to appreciate. If you don’t like that person that doesn’t mean I should appreciate him for what he has done for me.

I don’t care about how you feel about Bolaray all I care about is what he has done for and my appreciation in return.

In fact look at all these he has done for me and money I am making now from all this. And all I have to do it to clean his shoes? Why not? I am ready to clean all his shoes even the ones he hasn’t bought, I am ready to clean all of them and people should leave us alone. They should shut up”.

News: Food fundis

Ellah and Butterphly worked very hard on the task during the night, experimenting in the kitchen and getting into the swing of all things foodie. Upstairs Macky2, JJ and Nhlanhla tried to work on the adverts and threw a few food thoughts around as well.
The tasks and extravaganzas have undoubtedly allowed the Hotshots to brush up and improve their creative skills, and the innovation that can be found in food was no exception.
To prepare for the task and celebrate Creative Food Week, housemates were introduced to ONE campaign ambassadors Dr Sipho Moyo, Mpule Kwelagobe and Tumusiime Rhoda Peace, who educated and informed the Hotshots on agriculture in Africa and living sustainably off the land.
This idea was put into practice when Jacky Allart and Tony Lopes came to the house to help the Hotshots start a garden and taught them how easy it is to grow and cultivate their own food.
Today we’ll get to watch the housemates apply what they’ve learnt and put their creative ability to the test with Big Brother’s cook-off during the task presentation.
However, before they get to the task, housemates have more freezes to anticipate and seeing their loved ones in the house. Sunday is also just around the corner, meaning that nominations and evictions are on everyone’s minds.
Trezagah for one, decided to start his styling early, as Sheillah treated his hair last night. He was not waiting until the end of the week to get creative with a fresh style. What did you think of his new look?
uploaded image
Meanwhile the rest of the housemates tried to focus on the task, often getting distracted by eating instead of preparing food. The food task is definitely challenging and the Hotshots love food, but do you think they have what it takes to win tonight? Keep on watching and find

Bon appétit

In preparation for tomorrow’s grand cook-off, Big Brother wanted housemates to start practising their culinary skills. The Hotshots looked and sounded exhausted, but nevertheless went to straight to work after the task briefing. They displayed an impressive knowledge of the culinary world, as they ruminated over recipes and contemplated an exciting variety of ingredients from strawberries and rhubarb to croutons and bass.
The cherry on top of this task presentation is that the Hotshots also have to prepare three 30-second advertisements for Sofa Lounge Lillien Hand Sanitizers. At random moments during the task presentation tomorrow night Biggie will prompt the housemates to present their adverts by announcing “and now a word from our sponsors”. When they hear this message, the Hotshots have to start their adverts in a designated advert window, which will be brought into the house tomorrow.
As they spoke about food, Idris helped himself to an evening snack, and Sheillah promptly scolded him for talking and eating at the same time. However, just moments later she was beating a mortar and pestle together and making just as much noise. Meanwhile Nhlanhla, the king of food, had passed out on the couch.
uploaded image
A few ideas were passed around for the adverts, but the energy was lacking. Housemates were clearly emotionally drained after an eventful day spent dealing with nominations and seeing family members during Big Brother’s freezes. Do you think the housemates will pull off this task presentation and win luxury items for their last week?

Ghana’s M’am Bea and 3 Others Make Big Brother Final Cut

Ghana’s M’am Bea, Macky 2, Butterphly and Nhlanhla seem to have one foot in the Big Brother Hotshots grand finale which is only two weeks ago.

They were the only housemate who survived nominations this week, which also happens to be the last before the final show. This is the pen-ultimate week and ahead of the final vote this week’s nominations separated the safe from the not so safe. Macky2 added Ellah to the unfortunate list.

The nominations this week are: Goitse

Idris

JJ

Sheillah

Tayo

Sipe

Trezagah

Ellah

For Sheillah, it was clear that those nominated were definite threat. She may have been onto something seen as now was the best (and perhaps only) time to eliminate the threat.

She and Tayo launched into a rant and rave clearly having picked up some notes from the book of “Otono”. They affirmed the list of the nominated as strong contenders who weren’t going anywhere – par for the course.

The game was shifting into the last gear and the Hotshots had learnt a thing or two about how to intimidate people and instill a sense of insecurity.

Butterphly was not impressed with the outburst and buckled under Sheila’s shots. Sipe’s world came crushing down as she heard her name. This, immediately after she had won the Star Gift.

Happiness was short lived in this house.Head of House Macky2 added Ellah in place of himself and rendering her on the chopping board for a record-breaking six times now.

And this may have been Macky2’s reasoning behind adding her. Many assumed the fact of her being saved so many times showed that she was indeed a strong contender.

For the same reason we wonder if he reckoned Africa would keep the beauty queen in one last time. She was suspicious of course and M’am Bea approached her to calm her down.

We were clearly heading into the hunger games at this stage. Would the odds remain forever in her favour? Only time will tell.

Ellah in Trouble One Week to the Finale

It was probably the biggest week of the Big Brother Africa Hotshots, having included past seasons' housemates Sulu, Luclay, Natasha, Denzel, Vimbai, Elikem, Miss P, Feza and Uti.

From the moment they got into the house, they wreaked havoc. Uti (Nigeria) got on his countryman Tayo's nerves since he is an African star and yet Biggie was saying Nigeria had to choose between the two of them. Tanzanian Idris who has only one talent Africa can remember him for - playing the girls - was pitched against the beautiful Feza. The Tanzanian and Zimbabwean Vimbai successfully penetrated the Ellah (Uganda), Goitse (Botswana) and Idris love triangle.

Friendships were ruined and alliances were switched in the game twist, to the point that when it came to nominations on Sunday night, Sipe (Malawi) nominated former best friend Goitse for possible eviction. If Big Brother's intention was to raise the tension and entertain Africa, he nailed it - we can't forget that Tayo rant where he called Big Brother greedy for bringing back Uti and company. Or that profanity-laced outburst from South African model Luclay, which became too much for even him, that he burst into tears later.
Denzel (Uganda) was the first to spill Big Brother's secret prank, but as time went on, Feza did the same for Idris. Not that the suspicion by some that it was a prank lessened the paranoia any bit. Feza seems to have come with a mentality to help her country win; Idris' game plan seems to have changed, which is in turn throwing Ellah off course.

But it's not just Ellah; Goitse too has had to rethink her strategy. The poor girl had alienated her hotshot friends to form alliances with Feza and Vimbai. She even had the hots for Luclay, but on realizing she was pranked, her world came crushing down and she spent most of Sunday night in tears.
After the ex-housemates left during the live eviction show, she was all sobs, probably going back to the drawing board in her head. Idris ditched Ellah to console Goitse, thus pushing our girl to the over-available JJ - we saw that kiss. From the developments surrounding Ellah in that house, one thing is clear now: there is no way she could be a virgin as reported.

At the moment, the Ugandan is trending, but for the wrong reasons; she has been called a slut, whore, flirt and cheap. Well, in this game, all publicity is good publicity. Ellah, who head-of-house Macky2 decided to add to the nominees' list on Monday, joins Tayo, Trezegah (Mozambique), Sheila (Botswana), Goitse, Sipe, Idris and JJ (Zimbabwe) to fight for a place in the final.

The show ends on December 7 and the winner takes home $300,000. Vote free for Ellah on the DStv website, WeChat or MobileSite. You can also vote by SMSing the word Vote plus Ellah's name to 8884 on MTN, Airtel, Warid, Orange and utl.

Point Blank: Figgie On It Once More

Figgie continues to shock and amuse. Once again housemates needed a reminder that this was Biggie’s house – albeit taken up by Figgie for the time being. They had to stick to the rules. This meant cleaning up after themselves and keeping the house in good and sound order. By the tardy looks of things this was a little fact that slipped their minds.

Not one to miss a beat Figgie was only glad to pulled out her belt and whipped the lazy bunch into sharp shape. Housemates could not believe their ears as Figgie went on a right rant about how embarrassing they were and called them “dirty people”.  But the gutsy gal had an important point to make; cleanliness is next to godliness. The state of the house was indeed shameful. How could the housemates present themselves to their world as Hotshots when their abodes, in the background, were an utter piling pigsty?

12:35 The rehearsals are now properly underway, with all the housemates taking part.

Desmond Elliott Doing His Thing in The Big Brother House

Big Brother has devised means of helping the housemates in the various tasks he assigns to them. This time around, Biggie decided to provide help for the second “Big Brother Hotshots Master Class” campaign of the housemates. The help Big Brother provided was in the form of Biggie popular activist and Nollywood star turned politician, Desmond Elliott.

The talented Nigerian actor assisted the housemates in the development of their acting skills while also providing useful information on ways through which the housemates can use the fame from the Big Brother show to effect positive change in the world at large. Desmond Elliot’s message was inspiring and it mainly focused on the importance of hardwork which had a positive impact on the housemates who it seems gained a lot from the experience. He went on further to tell the housemates to make sure they map out a plan for whatever endeavours they may decide to venture into. He also talked about the social responsibility that comes along with the fame and stardom they have achieved by appearing on the Big Brother show, saying it was important they maximise the opportunity while being socially responsible ( he used the Ebola campaign as a case in point).

Desmond Elliott is one of Nollywood’s leading actors, with appearances in over two hundred movies including blockbusters like Men Who Cheat and Yahoo Millionaire. His achievements put him in an esteemed position to mentor and offer acting tips and advice to green horns like the housemates. He has won a lot of awards, notable amongst them being nominated for best supporting actor at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards and best supporting actor in a drama at the 2nd Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Desmond told the housemates that he was convinced to go into acting by a close friend and that he had to work his way to the pinnacle of the Nigerian movie industry through acting in soap operas and television shows. He is an outstanding actor that has used his fame in a positive way notably with his work with charity organisations like pone.org and Face of Hope. With the housemates still smattering from the loss of the 100% Wager on Wednesday, the Nigerian actors visit helped to uplift their spirits even as they prepare for the upcoming Extravaganza presentations coming up tomorrow.

It’s Extravaganza time again

Time to put on a show.  Fit for Comedy Week today’s instalment of the extravaganza task is called a “Comedy of Errors”. A form of comic theatre and entertainment, a Comedy of Errors take its roots from the Shakespearean play of the same name. The kind of humour employed here is often satirical, witty and even slapstick in tone.

The play pokes fun at aspects of culture and everyday life and situation through puns ambiguity, misunderstanding, mistaken identity and a witty play on words. This kind of theatre is farcical which means it is performed in highly exaggerated and extravagant gesture.

Idris was instructed to randomly pick names out of a top hat to create two teams. Seven names were selected for Team A and the remaining names made up Team B. Teams were then assigned two themes but had to roll a large dice to pick one. Themes were based on passages lifted off of Shakespearean plays and culture. They were “O Yea of Conspiracy” and “The Strangeness of Strangers”. The teams are:

Team A: O Yea of Conspiracy

Idris

Macky2

Sipe

Ellah

Frankie

Butterphly

Goitse

Mr.265

Team B: The Strangeness of Strangers

JJ

Trezagah

Samantha

Sheillah

Permithias

Nhlanhla

M’am Bea

Tayo

Both teams had to put on theatrical productions. They were to conceive of and write an original script based on the themes and settings. At least two characters had to perform in Shakespearean style and teams would mount the stage one after the other on extravaganza night.

Biggie certainly didn’t lie about upping the stakes in tasks. Fare the well, Housemates!

The Roof, The Roof is on fire

Taking it easy, Samantha and Idris tucked themselves away into a corner for a chat. She was upset about the "funny looks" he and JJ had been giving one another when she was around. Idris assured her they were friends and she confessed she trusted him above all others. She added that she would never speak about him behind his back, like she claimed other people did, saying Tayo had called him stupid.

It's official Samantha is really a manipulator and an instigator! She can't be trusted #BBhotshots
    — Chineze (Mrs Walcott (@Amchizzy) November 6, 2014

Samantha doesnt owe allegiance to Tayo she can say what ever she likes whenever she likes #BBHotshots
    — Ahava (@nastrodemus) November 6, 2014

Idris, however, was not fazed and huffed and puffed about his frustration with Ellah instead, offended over the way she had treated him the night before. Having tried to console her, she did nothing more than tell him off. Samantha told him to go easy on her, because she had been drunk, but he said that was no excuse – he was tired of taking care of people who only gave him a hard time in return. Samantha pointed out “the less we become, the more drama there is.” Watch them here:

Macky2 and Butterphly joined the conversation and it steered dangerously into the wrong territory as they spoke about nominations, but they managed to avoid the pitfall of breaking Biggie’s rules. They lamented the hard time people gave Frankie, saying they thought he was such a chilled person. Was last night’s incident between Ellah and Frankie still on their mind?

A new term also cropped up, as Butterphly referred to "the untouchables", explaining that they were the people in the house who could do anything wrong without being held accountable. Idris, she felt, was often used as a scapegoat. She did not name any names though. Maybe she will reveal something to Biggie in the diary room?

Arthur Gets Hero's Welcome From BBA

Business came to a standstill in Kigali as Big Brother Africa enthusiasts welcomed Arthur Nkusi from South Africa where he represented Rwanda in the reality show.

Arthur arrived yesterday at midday, aboard RwandAir and, he was welcomed by excited fans, friends and family who had waited anxiously with flowers and placards.

The 23-year-old was evicted after four weeks of showcasing a great sense of humour, but he could not survive the night he was up for eviction.

He was the seventh Hotshot to leave the show, alongside Ghana's Kacey Moore and Namibia's Luis.

"I would like to thank all of you for the support you showed me during my one month stay in Big Brother Africa. I am back to motherland and happy to have represented," Arthur wrote on his Facebook account.

The eviction of the actor, comedian and dancer means Rwanda's hopes are on Frankie who remains in contention of the $300, 000 jackpot, with about a month left.

"I would also like to thank MINISPOC, the East Africa community and everyone who made sure that Rwanda was fully represented. Let's all come together and support Frankie," he concluded," Arthur wrote.

Arthur rose to celebrity status during the show due to a combination of his charisma and talent. The Rwandan Hotshot had made himself a likeable fellow, especially around the girls.

"Arthur's eviction saddened most of the Big Brother Africa addicts who received it with shock," said Alex Mugisha, one of Arthur's fans.

"He was arguably one of the most entertaining and well behaved people in the House. I'm glad he represented Rwanda well and showed Africa the best out of him," he added.

So far, 10 housemates have been evicted from the 9th edition of Big Brother Africa which ends December 7.

"Arthur's performance was exquisite but of course everyone looks at things differently and maybe there are some who did not feel like he made a good performance. However now that he is out of the show what remains to be seen is if what he set out to achieve has been achieved," said Kennedy Mazimpaka, Arthur's father.

The comedian describes himself as 'funny, humorous and humble'.

Speaking at a press conference, Arthur said what helped him to stay longer in the competition was because he was multi talented and could do anything from choreographing, singing and also comedy.

"I am very excited to come back home. I've achieved what I had gone for in just a period of one month I spent in the house, which was mainly to showcase my talent to Africa," said Arthur.

"My advice to people aspiring to participate in the Big Brother is to be real. I also call upon Rwandans to vote for Frankie because the southern and western countries are voting as a block and this is why East Africans are voted out early," he added.
