The artist recently shot the video of his latest single from his upcoming album with Angelo Afrikaans of Big Brother fame making a cameo in the video. Apart from shooting the video together, the pair also recorded a song over the weekend.
The collaboration between the two was made possible by Izinyoka record boss, Steven 'Izinyoka' Gaseb, who invited Angelo over to Namibia.
"We are using music to bring people together and this is also a way for us to elevate each other," Angelo said in an interview with The Namibian.
Signed to Ghetto Ruff records in South Africa, Angelo is also a Hip Hop artist and a dancer. He also worked on a video with some former Big Brother housemates just after this year's show ended.
Explaining his hiatus, Deejay told The Namibian that his absence was due to private matters in his life.
"My last album came out in 2010 and since then, I've been working on new material for my upcoming release. I also decided to stay out of the music scene so I could deal with some personal issues," he said.
His latest offering, he said, is different in the sense that he will be working with different producers.
He insists that he will keep doing commercial Hip Hop as it's the only way to get ahead.
"I do notice a few rappers going conscious (lyrically) but the whole conscious thing is not selling.
That doesn't mean that I will not do any conscious song though, my new album will have some thought-provoking music as well and not just the feel-good type of music," said Deejay.
He also expressed concern with the Hip Hop scene at the moment, saying that after awards, most artists tend to relax instead of pushing further and releasing new albums.
The collaboration between Angelo and Deejay as well as their video together will be out soon and the two urge fans to look out for it. Additionally, Namibian fans got a chance to meet Angelo on Saturday when he made an appearance at Chez Ntemba night club.
The reality star, who has clearly fallen in love with Namibia plans to return in December and promised a big surprise for his fans. This surprise involves BBA winner and fellow housemate, Dillish Mathews, who he will soon be working with.
"I love Namibia, people here are really nice and very hardworking," he said.
