Cleo goes kamikazi on Stella

Stella Mwangi will be spending a lot of time with Zambian rapper Cleo Ice Queen when she jets down to South Africa at the end of November.

Stella will be in South Africa for the Channel O Africa Music Video Awards where she is expected to present an award, and hopefully win one too.

Stella, also known as STL, got a nomination in the Most Gifted Video of the Year category for her track Stella Stella Stella.

According to her Kenya manager Tim Adeka, touchdown in Jozi will be Saturday, 30 November and during a five-day stay, Stella’s team will link up with Team Kamikazi to shoot a video.

“Stella featured on the remix to her (Cleo’s) hit song Boyz Talking and her manager Fortune Sway contacted me to see if we could shoot the video during this period. Plans are still underway,” Tim told us.

Boyz Talking is the latest in a slew of heavy tracks by the Zambian musician and ex Big Brother Africa housemate, and Africa is loving it. Cleo has intimated on social media that she is not about to stop, and fans should look out for her at the CHOAMVAs on Saturday.

And back in the yard, Stella has also been closely involved in putting together a record on Kenyan songstress Sarah Mitaru's album, which is due for release soon.

“I'm trying to get Stella here to record the video to this jam,” adds Tim. “Sarah mentioned that it will be shot and directed by A. Macharia.”
