2014 Big Brother Africa must be more African

A New York based Ghanaian designer is calling on the organizers of the Big Brother Africa (BBA) reality TV show to “make the episodes more African”

Emelia Frimpong told VibeGhana.com in an interview that when she first heard of the Big Brother Africa game show she got excited about the fact that Africa has got its own version of the show but was shocked of the way the show tries to copy the American version.

“I heard about the show through a Friend in Ghana, and I was shocked of how much the show tried to copy the American series”

“They don’t dress African, and they try to even change the way they talk” Emelia said

She also called on the organizers to limit the amount of sexual screens in the BBA House.

“The show is quickly becoming a contest of showcasing breast size with girls taking countless open bath in front housemate”

Emelia said she has compared the living in the BBA house to that of an average African men and women and concluded they are not in line.

“Do African girls take their bath at their homes in front of 5..6 strangers? or do they invite 6 friends over to come and sit to watch them take naked showers” Emelia asked.

“The idea of the show is good but in 2014 they must blend in a little African life style in the BBA house” She added.

The Big Brother Africa reality TV series which started in 2007 is the most popular game show on the continent with a massive $300 000 first place cash prize.
